weekly write up 6/2/2024

trainerlyraoh boy what a week! i really REALLY need to step up my exercise game this week i ate so much shit!!!! LOL. it was my first time traveling internationally, so let's get into it... lots of pictures of course!!
monday: day before the flight! i spent a lot of sunday packing, so i finished up packing kyle's stuff monday & got my nails done because friend's wedding. kyle told me he thought i should do purple for my off nail, so that's what i did! i also spent the evening finishing up my xxxholic rewatch and making my friends friendship bracelets to give to them as little gifts. most of the day was spent stressing over trip bc i hate planes LOL. therapist did his best to calm me but i am absurdly stubborn sometimes lmao. the bracelets were relaxing though, i made them based on my friends' fave ships (+ sapphy's husbando).
i took my orv ita bag but then didn't use it at all LOL it was just my carry everything bag, hilariously enough.
tuesday: PLANE DAY! my beloathed. i actually HATE flying so much. it terrifies me. we are not supposed to be that high up guys. it's not NATURAL. but it's fine, because my bestie red actually had my same flight! she was transferring from LAX so i was shocked but!! it worked out and we managed to be sure she was sitting next to us too so having the both of them was really a big help. basically the entire day was spent traveling; we got to the airport at around 11:30, our flight left at 4pm, and then time change meant that we didn't do anything until wednesday morning haha. but i got to take my joongdok plush out for some fun oshikatsu~
this pic red took is so purposefully awful on all accounts lmao. my hair was still wet from my shower and everything LOL. she's so cute somehow stepping off a 5.5 hour flight right onto a 7 hour one. incredible really. i love her so much. she read all of TB on the train, which was a delight (once we got wifi working....bc over the ocean it doesn't work so well....), and we played some silly pen and paper games together too. kyle mostly slept bc he's the smartest out of all of us.
wednesday: we arrive in germany! at 5AM. baggage claim was a nightmare, seriously why is it such a long walk? from the terminal? logan airport is nothing like this lol.
we get to our hotel via uber after some.. struggles...... bc i wasn't trying to figure out trains at 6AM in a language i don't know. kyle, however, had some german he learned quite well, which was a huuuuge help on the trip! but the hotel was nice and cozy.
i passed out from like 9am-1pm by accident bc i didn't sleep a wink on the plane, got 4 hours of sleep the night before, and time change LOL. but then it was FRIENDSHIP TIME! we went to the natural science museum in frankfurt, which was so much fun we all had a blast, and then we walked for a hot minute to find a place with outdoor seating (one of our friends has a weaker immune system, so she didn't want to eat inside!), and found a nice italian-esque? place? anyways i had mediocre gnocchi but an AMAZING dessert of nutella ice cream w/ sour cherries.... soooooo good. this was the only day we'd really get with lena solo, since it was her wedding weekend LOL it was really nice she even made it out there for us on wednsday in the first place. we went on a fun long adventure with lili in search of a store to grab some toothpaste etc at since thursday was a bank holiday in germany. we were unsuccessful but it was still very fun tbh. overall just.... heart so full and warm. i love my friends inside my phone and now also outside my phone. seriously i cannot overstate how wonderful it was just to be around them all at the same time in person? like just the instant clicking and comfort and acceptance and love. i felt SO loved this entire week. i love them. i'm so happy to have done this.

thursday: bank holiday! red and i got up and were like uhhhh. what's open? lol. we went in search of protein for my poor husband. we ended up meeting dina & dicey at the städel museum which was really cool. i couldn't take pictures really bc. well i forgot but also my bag was given to bag check lol. but it was really cool! one of kyle's favorite artists had two pieces in there, including one of his beautiful landscapes that kyle recognized instantly. that made his whole day. and i got jason some temporary tattoos LOL. red and i went to the exhibit from this artist one of her professors had told her about, and that was WICKED cool. she was so multi-talented! having red there was cool bc she knew so much of the art history, which was really fun.
we then got some pizza with dina & dicey! kyle impressed us all by ordering in german. it was very impressive. it was pretty good pizza too, though i still find it weird that margarita pizza here is plain cheese there, and what i expect to be a margarita is actually a caprese? so that's what i ordered!
after, kyle red and i had "mandatory naptime". aka red came into our hotel room and kyle napped on the floor, red under the blankets on the bed so she could fix her hijab before coming back out lol, and i sat in the comfy hotel chair and read seisub fic for... 5? hours? LMAO it was a long nap. then we ate our (lukewarm) pizza leftovers, and prepared for our trek the next morning to lena's wedding!
friday: WEDDING DAY!!!! we left on our first train at around 10am, though that was a 20 minute delay so great start lol. there were some guys in our reserved seats on our first train and they were PISSED when we told them they had to move. lmfao. but anyways the first train was so smooth BUT OUR TRANSFER. WAS A WHOLE THING. so because our train was delayed, our connection transfer time went from 15-ish minutes to THREE. THREE SINGULAR MINUTES. so we found out dicey/dina/sapphy were on the same connecting train as us and they were like RUN. BOOK IT. GO GO GO GO. and somehow miraculously not only did we MAKE IT but they managed to get the conductor to HOLD THE TRAIN FOR US FOR A MINUTE? like legit we got on doors closed lmfao. it was wild. but we made it!!! and off to the venue we went:
and then, of course, WEDDING!!! i was wearing silent moon by mmm, which was a big hit haha. i didn't take many pictures because i was too busy CRYING AND HOLDING KYLE during the speeches and stuff, oh my god i cannot tell you how excited i am for lena to be married. lucas is such a good guy, he's so kind and loves her so so much, it's everything she deserves and i love them. also she looked GORGEOUS in her dress. i was so happy. i helped her pick the dress i was there when she chose it!!! and it was the perfect dress she was the most beautiful ever. and we got honey!! and she had this cute dnd thing to encourage guests to talk to each other, i've included kyle's character sheet too.. i love him.
the wedding was also fun, wish someone warned me european weddings lasted 12+ hours tho? lmfao. but it was so fun. because it's lena, the music portion was the most fun - kyle led us off by doing karaoke to wonderwall which EVERYONE loved lmfao, and then dicey & dina did wannabe which. iconic. and then we ALL (me red dicey dina lili sapphy lena) did dear maria count me in & misery business before going to regular dancing like crazy. kyle wowed everyone with his dancing skills of course, and we had some great bangers in there.... including lena starting a mosh pit IN HER WEDDING DRESS during the metal cover of EVERY TIME WE TOUCH, literally most iconic thing i have ever seen in my entire life. and then near the later part of the night we got rocked w FOB's thnks fr th mmrs followed immediately after by THE BLACK PARADE. which... we all cried singing to together lmao like screaming at the top of our lungs. we formed a circle just us and it was. the most touching thing. i'm going to remember that for the rest of my life. i'm so happy we could make lena's most special day so memorable for her, too. i love these people with my whole heart. the capsule hotel was fun even if i didn't sleep until 4:45 and missed breakfast but OH WELL!
saturday: morning was a bit hectic bc we had to speed run getting our shit together and figuring out the trains again, but we did get some good time together with the whole gang while waiting for our taxi. i look so awkward bc i was Not Awake lmfao.
trains this time were muuuuuch more peaceful. no crazy transfers and dicey and dina were taking the same trains me kyle and red were on, so we parted just at the frankfurt main station before checking into our new hotel which was pretty nice for how cheap it was?
unfortunately i ate approximately one chocolate croissant the entire day and so after a shower and getting dressed and putting on my makeup my body absolutely REVOLTED and i threw up in the bathroom for awhile. bile only, obviously, bc what else was there in my stomach... but yeah that sucked. we were gonna go out to dinner since dina and dicey were leaving sunday morning, but kyle was too exhausted and then i was, uh, throwing up, so then my friends decided i was apparently deserving of the most love in the universe and dina and dicey went and PICKED UP VEGAN SCHNITZEL FOR US AND BROUGHT IT TO OUR HOTEL TO HANG OUT FOR THE NIGHT..... this was actually probably my favorite part of the trip ngl. it was just, so relaxing? i have never felt so loved. these people had met me in person for the first time not even a week ago and were willing to do THAT. i literally cried when they said they were going to do that on their own. like i had just apologized that i couldn't make dinner and immediately they followed up with that. which was. god i love my friends!!!! i love my friends!!!!!
sunday: we were all positively EXHAUSTED lmfao. red and i caught breakfast together w/ kyle and then parted ways and said maybe we'd meet up for lunch and/or dinner but our pickings were slim because i did not know? everything? fucking closes on sunday what's up with that. so red went on an adventure on her own and kyle and i did literally nooooothing in our hotel room the entire day lol. i read sooooo much seisub fic. it's delightful going through all the old LJ stuff. i miss those days. we did get good takeout curry though:
i packed mostly after that, got everything ready for the morning. the night sucked a bit bc kyle and i were both out of sorts, hungry, and sleep deprived to hell and back, so we fought a bit but. it is what it is! the whole trip was really delightful all together though. we really had a great time. it was both of our first time flying over the ocean, and my first time out of the country period. nerve wracking experience, but i'm really glad i finally got to travel. i wouldn't have missed lena's wedding for the world, ofc, but still!
today was my flight home so i'll include all that in the next weekly write up. i'm tired and need to edit birthday parts lmfao. so! but yeah. all in all. fantastic trip, i love my friends, i don't deserve any of them and yet they are still here still love me? and i am still so full of love for them.
last week's goals? accomplished them all! even if i kept forgetting about the time difference and waking my dad up and random times like 3am. sorry dad.
