notes: this is part of a series of shortish oneshots that mostly go in place somewhere after TSME and during XY&Z. it was written while everything was airing of course. the series mostly revolves around alan & serena ending up traveling together for a short time. their relationship is a large part of the series, but the endgame ships are marisson, poke, and geekchic. i'll slowly post these in order and fix them up once they're all posted, and eventually i'll port them all to ao3 (and link that here, too). these interconnected drabbles were also written very out of order, so the dates written might look strange.
other notes: these oneshots were also all based on prompts to tell the story. this prompt was "i'm not cut out for this". additionally, there was supposed to be a fic in between the last and this according to my outline, so i should probably write that at some point lol

notes: this was originally written for datastormshipping week 2018, prompt "lost", but i never posted this one for some reason..? i think i thought it wasn't finished but oh well. i have a lot of different thoughts on what yusaku's life could have been like before the lost incident & pre-canon, but this was before i decided it made more sense for him to be an orphan and then hack an emancipation certificate or w/e... though i don't actually know if japan has minor emancipation? but let's pretend it does. can you tell i think way too much about the legal ramifications in a series where modern society is based upon a card game

notes: i think i initially wanted to expand upon this? probably, based on how choppy it is lol. this was using the prompt "i beg to be let out of my mouth". this style is much more akin to some of the stuff in the, like, 2008-2012 era of LJ/FFN works. i think i was feeling nostalgic lol. for as much as i absolutely adore rinarcher, i think this is the only time i've ever tried to write them? maybe i'll feel the need when f/sn is finally on my switch in english...
